OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Innovation, discovery, and future-focused learning took center stage in Osceola County Saturday as STEM Day at NeoCity drew a strong crowd of students and families for a hands-on learning celebration of science and technology.
The event highlighted the county’s growing role as a center for advanced manufacturing, semiconductor research, and emerging technologies.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees engaged with cutting-edge demonstrations and exhibits that showcased real-world applications of robotics, microelectronics, emergency response technology, and data-driven innovation. The largest and most interactive exhibit came from Osceola County Fire Rescue & EMS, which showcased multiple hands-on educational displays demonstrating the advanced technologies now being integrated into modern fire rescue operations. Attendees were able to explore equipment, learn about emergency response innovations, and see firsthand how technology is enhancing public safety across the county.
A key presence throughout the event was the student ambassadors from NeoCity Academy, who played an active role in guiding visitors, answering questions, and sharing firsthand insight into the school’s rigorous, technology-driven curriculum. Their involvement provided prospective students and families with a unique, peer-led perspective on the opportunities available within Osceola County’s premier STEM-focused high school.
Dozens of organizations and technology leaders contributed to the experience, including Kissimmee Utility Authority, Valencia College and its Accelerated Skills Training program, WeatherSTEM, CareerSource Central Florida, SkyWater Technology, Plug and Play Tech Center, Smart Radar System, LocatorX, the Florida Semiconductor Engine, as well as NeoCity STEM Camp and a wide range of local STEM programs.
Additional participation included FDOT, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, and the Osceola County School District, alongside robotics teams, weather technology experts, and astronomy educators.
Interactive highlights ranged from robotics demonstrations and weather monitoring systems to solar observation experiences and mobile STEAM learning labs, all designed to immerse attendees in the technologies shaping tomorrow’s workforce.
Beyond the exhibits, the event reinforced a broader mission: preparing Osceola County students for careers in high-demand fields such as semiconductor manufacturing, engineering, cybersecurity, and advanced research. By bringing together industry leaders, educators, and public agencies, STEM Day offered a clear look at how education and innovation are aligning to drive the region forward.
With strong participation and meaningful engagement across every level, STEM Day at NeoCity underscored Osceola County’s commitment to building a pipeline of talent ready to lead in the rapidly evolving world of technology.
