The Osceola Magic, the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Mexico City Capitanes in their season opener at the Arena CDMX Friday night. Capitanes’ Ethan Thompson and Juan Toscano-Anderson showcased an impressive performance, combining for 49 points and securing a convincing 108-97 victory over the Magic.

Thompson led all scorers with a game-high 25 points and Toscano-Anderson would add 24 points for Mexico City. The Capitanes led for nearly the entire game as the Magic were unable to reclaim their lead they held in the first two minutes of play.

Brandon Williams and Trevelin Queen each recorded a team-high 21 points for the Magic.

The Osceola Magic (0-1) will face the Austin Spurs, on Sunday, November 12 in Austin at 5:00 PM ahead of their season opener at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee on Thursday November 16 at 7pm. Tickets are on sale at OsceolaMagic.com.
