During the Osceola County Commissioner’s meeting on April 15, 2019, Chairwoman Grieb presented a Proclamation to Sue Vitelli, American Cancer Society Event Lead for Relay for Life of Osceola County proclaiming the week of April 20-27, 2019 as Paint the County Purple Week, asking the community to show their support to those fighting cancer and those we have lost to cancer. Show your support during Paint the County Purple Week, April 20, 2019, until April 27, 2019, by coming together as a community to fight back against cancer and help raise funds to find cures.

Did you know that 1 out of 3 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?

The Relay for Life movement is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraiser which helps communities attack cancer because unfortunately, it affects us all through family, friends, or even our own battles.

This year, Osceola County is joining in the fight of over 5,200 communities worldwide by participating in the Relay for Life, an event that is held to celebrate Survivors and remember those we have lost. Relay for Life of Osceola County will be raising funds to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well, finding cures, and encouraging them to fight back.

“With every dollar donated, $1.00 can buy a petri dish for early diagnoses. Every dollar that is raised is appreciated! We encourage everyone to join us on April 27th for Relay for Life of Osceola County, this year’s theme is Relayville, with a bakery shop, coffee shop, and other fun features.”
