Summer vacation is coming to a wrap as the 2019-2020 school year approaches, but being able to afford to buy new book bags, binders, folders and other school supplies can be a challenge for many families.
Every child deserves to come prepared for the first day of the new school year with proper school supplies. As it does every year, our awesome community has come together to collect and distribute school supplies for the students of Osceola County with a variety of school supply events throughout July and August.
Positively Osceola has gathered the dates and locations of Osceola County’s major school supplies giveaways, so here is our list of upcoming events to better prepare students for the upcoming school year:
Join District 4 County Commissioner Cheryl Grieb on Friday, July 26 from 4-6 p.m. at the Hart Memorial Central Library for the annual Back to School Bash! This event features story time, activities and snacks, and will provide the first 150 students with free book bags and school supplies. All students must be accompanied by an adult and must be present to receive their supplies.
Join District 2 County Commissioner Viviana Janer on Wednesday, July 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the BVL Library for the annual Back to School Bash! The event will provide the first 1,000 students with free book bags and school supplies. All students must be accompanied by an adult and must be present to receive their supplies.
Join District 3 County Commissioner Brandon Arrington on Saturday, August 3 from 10-11am at the Valencia College Poinciana Campus. The event will provide free book bags filled with school supplies, while supplies last. All students must be accompanied by an adult and must be present to receive their supplies.
City of Kissimmee Government is hosting their Back to School Jam on August 3 at 9 am – 1 pm at the Chambers Park Community Center 2380 Smith St, Kissimmee, Florida 34744. Receive free school supplies and back packs. Enjoy raffles, a bounce house, face painters, live entertainment, a DJ and free haircuts!
Come out to the Back To School Supply Event also on August 3rd 11am -2pm, hosted by City of St. Cloud, Florida at the St. Cloud Square plaza located at 4037 13th street, near Gators Dockside. There will be a variety of local merchants, and the chance to meet the Hero Crew’s superheroes! In order to receive school supplies, children must be present with a parent or guardian who must bring and present their ID.
Join Kissimmee Main Street on August 3rd from 4-6pm in Historic Downtown Kissimmee for a Back to School Block Party located at 421 Broadway, Kissimmee, Florida. There will be school supply giveaways, games, a scavenger hunt, prizes, raffles and more. This FREE event is perfect for the entire family.
