Five candidates joined the race to fill the late Chuck Cooper’s Seat 3 on the St. Cloud Council. After the October 5th primary, only two remained –  Jose’ Martinez and Kolby Urban. Next week both candidates will participate in separate LIVE discussions on Positively Osceola’s social channels to remind St. Cloud voters why they are the best choice in the upcoming November 9 Special Election general.

Neither candidate received more than 50% of the vote, so the two candidates will now run in the upcoming November 9 Special Election general. Whoever wins will have the option to complete Chuck Cooper’s current term and then run for 2 additional terms.

There are currently 38,567 registered voters in the City of St. Cloud, but only 4373 participated in the primary. Being a special election, there are no other races that will “draw’ people to the polls, so the two candidates will be doing all the “heavy lifting” in getting people to the polls, or to participate in early voting, or voting by mail. Positively Osceola will be encouraging registered voters in St. Cloud to participate.

Positively Osceola reached out to both candidates to offer 15-20 minute LIVE  discussions on PO’s Facebook page, Twitter, and YouTube. Both Jose’ Martinez and Kolby Urban accepted the offer and will participate on the following dates and times with Positively Osceola’s Keith Ronan.

Monday October 25 at 7pm: Jose’ Martinez
Tuesday October 26 at 7pm: Kolby Urban

These will not be debates, these are candidate discussions. We will have agreed upon topics and points of discussions. There will be no limit to the time a candidate can speak on an individual topic or point of discussion, but Positively Osceola will attempt to keep the discussions to 20 minutes overall and equal for both candidates. It is Positively Osceola’s intention to create a comfortable and fair environment for both candidates that will remind registered voters who the candidates are, their experience, their intentions if elected, and to remind registered voters that they can make a positive impact on the St. Cloud community they live in by voting.

We hope that you will watch
