I’m Nathan Blackwell, Mayor of the City of St. Cloud.

The City of St. Cloud is looking for community input for the study currently being conducted on the 10th Street corridor, from US 192 to Narcoossee Road. The city is working with Osceola County and MetroPlan Orlando to find ways to make the street safer for everyone who uses it, whether they’re driving, walking, riding their bike, or taking the bus. The study team has developed a short 5-minute video that explains the study so far and shows some options that are being considered. Let me encourage you to watch the video and then submit your thoughts and opinions at the link provided in the video.

Our St. Cloud Police Department will be hosting two “Coffee With a Cop” events. The first will take place on Wednesday, February 9th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Starbucks located at 4108 13th Street here in St. Cloud. Our new police chief Douglas Goerke will be there with several other officers from our police department. There is no agenda; it’s just a chance for you to get to know the men and women who serve our community as police officers, ask any questions you may have, and thank our officers for the wonderful work that they do. For those of you who can’t make it that day and would like to meet our new Police Chief, you’ll still have a chance. On Friday, February 25 from 8:30 am – 10:30 am Chief Goerke will be available to speak to the community at Vanessa’s Coffee Shop, located at 3350 Canoe Creek Rd. in St Cloud in the Crosscreek Village Shopping Plaza. Positively Osceola will be there and we hope to see the community there as well.

And finally, it may seem a little early to be thinking about St. Patrick’s Day already, but we are gearing up for our annual Paint the Cloud Green St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will be held on Saturday, March 12th at 7 p.m. We are looking for local businesses, non-profits, and schools to participate in the parade. Give Parks and Recreation a call at 407-957-7243 to register today.

We hope to see you soon here in St. Cloud… your Centerplace for Life!
