The Powerball® jackpot is once again making history, climbing to an estimated $1.70 billion for Saturday night’s drawing. The prize carries a cash value of $770.3 million, making it the third-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
Only two jackpots have ever been larger—the world-record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in November 2022 and the $1.765 billion jackpot claimed in October 2023. Both of those massive prizes were won in California.
Winning Numbers and Recent Prizes
The jackpot soared higher after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Wednesday night:
White Balls: 3, 16, 29, 61, 69
Red Powerball: 22
Power Play® Multiplier: 2
While no one took home the jackpot, plenty of winners still walked away with life-changing prizes:
-
11 tickets matched all five white balls for $1 million, sold in California (2), Colorado, Florida, Georgia (2), Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
-
4 tickets doubled their winnings to $2 million by adding the Power Play® option. These were sold in Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming.
-
117 tickets won $50,000 prizes (Match 4 + Powerball).
-
36 tickets boosted to $100,000 prizes with Power Play.
In total, more than 6.3 million tickets won cash prizes in Wednesday’s drawing.
Additionally, in the Double Play® drawing, tickets sold in Pennsylvania and Maine matched all five black balls to win $500,000 each.
Jackpot Streak Reaches Record
Saturday’s drawing will mark the 42nd consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner, setting a new game record. The previous record of 41 drawings was set in April 2024, when a $1.326 billion jackpot was finally hit in Oregon.
If a winner emerges this weekend, they can choose between:
-
An annuitized prize of $1.70 billion, paid in 30 installments over 29 years, with annual payments increasing by 5%.
-
A lump sum payout of $770.3 million, before taxes.
Playing Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since its debut in 1992, Powerball has helped generate more than $36 billion for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries.
Drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery studio in Tallahassee and are broadcast live and streamed online at Powerball.com.
The odds of winning the jackpot remain 1 in 292.2 million, with overall odds of winning a prize at 1 in 24.9.
