The Salvation Army is teeing up for a heartwarming and enjoyable event—the 1st Annual Osceola FORE! “Others” Golf Classic. Swing into action on Friday, March 1st, at 7:00 a.m. at the Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, FL. By participating, you’ll not only enjoy a day on the greens but also contribute to The Salvation Army’s vital role in the Osceola community.

The Salvation Army of Osceola County’s Emergency Service Unit has stood as a lifeline for the Osceola community, providing essential services and unwavering support, even in the face of adversity.

Despite the recent intentional fire that aimed to destroy the spirit of the organization in addition to its building, The Salvation Army of Osceola County remains resilient. Continuing to meet the needs of the unhoused and vulnerable members of the community, the Emergency Service Unit provides funding to assist with rent and utility emergencies and laundry services. On average, monthly, the organization provided 330 showers, and 250 food pantry packages for individuals and families in need. A pantry room has been provided by Kissimmee First Church of the Nazarene to The Salvation Army to continue its work of addressing food insecurity and helping individuals and families, including underserved seniors.

The Salvation Army is determined to recover as quickly as possible. In addition to welcoming traditional donations to aid in its recovery, the organization is proud to announce its 1st Annual Osceola FORE! “Others” Golf Classic. This exciting fundraising event invites sponsors, individual golfers of all skill levels, and groups to participate in a day of camaraderie and support for such a staple in the Osceola community. By participating in the golf classic, sponsors and golfers alike can make the recovery of The Salvation Army’s Emergency Service Unit become a reality much sooner than later.

The recent challenges have not deterred The Salvation Army, instead, it has amplified efforts to strengthen community partnerships. In addition to meeting the daily needs of its community, the organization has successfully navigated critical times of the year to include serving hundreds of children and Seniors through its Angel Tree program, Three Kings Community contribution, and providing hundreds of backpacks and non-perishable food items mid-year for students alongside Commissioner Peggy Commissioner Choudhry for families in need.

“It is in moments like these, that we all see the undeniable power of our shield creating positive impact throughout the Osceola community,” said Captain Ken Chapman, Area Commander, The Salvation Army. “Our presence in this community places warm food on the dinner table for a family in need, parents who’ve faced unexpected bills beyond their control have been able to stay housed because of The Salvation Army. We will always be an army of love and one who gets results for those who need it most and we appreciate every individual who stands alongside us in the mission of doing the most good.”

Community collaboration has been instrumental in The Salvation Army’s ability to persevere. Organizations like Kissimmee First Church of the Nazarene, Restore Hope, Celebration Foundation, Experience Kissimmee, and Old Town Entertainment District as well as dedicated County officials like Commissioner Peggy Choudhry, among others, have rallied together to ensure the mission continues without skipping a beat. The Salvation Army’s commitment extends beyond meeting daily immediate needs of the community. Now more than ever, the importance of The Salvation Army is being recognized by other entities, highlighting, in various forms, the critical role the organization plays.

The 1st Annual Osceola FORE! “Others” Golf Classic will shine as a warm and fun way to help The Salvation Army continue its role as a staple in the Osceola community.
