Terminal B at Sanford International Airport was quickly evacuated to Terminal A this morning after airport officials reported that a young boy was found to have what looked to be a grenade in his possession by a screener.

Airport officials said that law enforcement determined that the grenade in fact was was hollow, but had been a live grenade at some point in the past.

A young boy was traveling with his family to Mississippi and had gotten the grenade from his cousin, His parents had no idea that their son had the grenade with him.

Sanford Airport operation returned to normal shortly after the situation was managed and there were no reports of flights being delayed. There were no charges filed connected to this incident.
