The high school soccer and girls basketball teams have reached the “Win or clear out your locker” part of the season.

Girls and boys soccer and girls basketball teams between St. Cloud, City of Life and Harmony have qualified for the regional playoffs, including four district champions. The FHSAA announced its brackets on Sunday.

It starts Tuesday in girls soccer. St. Cloud (13-6-3), the No. 3 seed in Class 6A Region 3, hosts Plant City (8-5-2) in a regional quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Harmony (13-6-1) reached the playoffs as a wild card, and the No. 5 Longhorns, one of four teams to advance from District 6A-12, will travel to Lakeland George Jenkins (7-9). Harmony beat the Eagles 7-0 back on Nov. 21. Winners will play on Friday.

In boys soccer, the Bulldogs (14-5-1) and Longhorns (12-4-5) also made the playoffs. The Bulldogs will host Viera (17-2-2) on Wednesday  at 7, and Harmony will head east on 192 to Melbourne (18-3-1). Winners will play in Saturday’s regional semifinals.

In girls basketball, St. Cloud (18-8) and City of Life (24-0), who have both been to the state tournament in Lakeland the last two years, look to return when they play regional quarterfinals Friday at 7. The Bulldogs host Lake Howell (13-12) at 7, and the Warriors look to keep their undefeated season going against Real Life Christian (15-7). Winners will play again on Tuesday.

So with four playoff games in the county over three days, it’s a great opportunity to be a positive influence and support Osceola County high school sports.
