On Monday, SpaceX and NASA announced that they will launch their next crew of astronauts to the International Space Station on Halloween, October 31.

The mission, called Crew-1, will ferry four astronauts to the space station and back.

According to the Crew-1 mission plan, the launch will take place at 2:40 a.m. ET on October 31.,. although the mission was originally scheduled to launch in late September or closeby.

Crew-1 is actually SpaceX’s first official, NASA contracted astronaut mission, since the one it recently completed was actually called a demo.

There are at least six more planned ISS missions as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

The launch schedule change enables NASA to better coordinate with the current coming and going of other cosmonauts and astronauts going to the ISS.
