If you’re heading to the Orlando area here’s a change that may affect your driving. Today, Monday, April 26, the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) will open the first of two flyover ramps planned for the SR 528/SR 436 interchange.

• The new flyover ramp from northbound SR 436/Semoran Boulevard to westbound SR 528/Beachline Expressway (Exit 1B) replaces the tight loop ramp, providing a smoother traffic flow.

• The entrance for the new flyover ramp is nearly a half-mile to the south of the entrance for the old loop ramp meaning drivers have an earlier decision point.

• Drivers need to follow the signs for the new ramp entrance and not rely on their GPS mapping systems.

• If motorists miss the new ramp entrance, they can continue north on SR 436 to TG Lee Boulevard where they can make a U-turn to return to westbound SR 528 via southbound SR 436.
