St. Cloud Police Department’s 9-1-1 Communications Center was recently reaccredited as an Emergency Medical, Fire and Police Dispatch Center of Excellence by the Board of Accreditation of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED). The department’s 9-1-1 Communications Center has the distinguished honor of being the 12th Triple Accredited Center in the World.

The IAED is a non-profit standard-setting organization promoting safe and effective emergency dispatch services world-wide. An Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) is the highest distinction in 9-1-1 emergency communication services.

St. Cloud Police Department’s 9-1-1 Communications Center achieved reaccreditation for their compliance to the Priority Dispatch System (PDS) and the associated “20 Points of Excellence”.

The “20 Points of Excellence” encompass international practice standards of excellence for Emergency Medical, Fire, Police Dispatch (MPDS/FPDS/PPDS). This culture of operational effectiveness addresses system oversight, quality improvement programs, and individual certification of all emergency call-takers.
