For the 26th consecutive year, the City of St. Cloud has been honored with the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
According to the GFOA, the City’s report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“I am proud of our Finance Department team, under the leadership of Finance Director Jeff Cooper, for receiving this award, and specifically for Suzette Cover, Gloria Emanuel, and Donna Cooley, whose work was key to attaining this honor again this year,” said City Manager Veronica Miller. “The award, and the fact that we’ve won it for 26 consecutive years, truly shows our commitment to fiscal transparency and accountability with tax dollars.”
