The first day of  the Osceola County School District’s new year is upon us, and with things as they are, there are sure to be lots of questions from students and families. The school district has worked tirelessly to provide a safe and positive, solution-based educational environment, no matter which environment the family and students have chosen.

The district’s website at OsceolaSchools.net has an abundance of resources that should answer a host of questions that might arise, including Start Smart Back to School Info, a Technical Question Hotline – (407-870-4037) beginning at 7am, a Back to School Transportation Hotline – (407-483-3673), Curbside Meal Pickup information for Digital Learning Students, and so much more.

Tomorrow will also be the first day of students, teachers, and support staff wearing masks, something that will certainly come with challenges – as it does for most of us.

The classrooms, cafeterias, and common ground areas will be socially distanced as much as possible. Sports and other extracurricular activities are sure to look much different this year. Some students will not be on campus at all, after choosing one of the digital learning options. But what will not be different – is the need for everyone to work together as a team. That’s where this years success will lie.

It’s about doing whatever is best in order to provide an excellent educational environment for the students, and doing it safely and wisely.

That will only be possible with excellent communication and cooperation between students, families, and the school district – and with patience and understanding.

Positively Osceola wishes every student, teacher, and support staff member an excellent first-day back to school… and that every child, every chance, every day will be the focus of the day, and all year! We are absolutely Positive it will be!
