Twenty-Five years ago Tom Griffin made a mark on the community that has changed lives and changed futures forever. He opened a halfway house, The Transition House, in St. Cloud Florida that was focused on providing substance abuse treatment and transitional housing for men. At Wednesday’s St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours the community had an opportunity to say thank you!

Tom Griffin and The Transition House had a goal to assist homeless men with alcohol or drug abuse diagnoses and to prepare them for their return to society as productive and self-sustaining members of the community. From there The Transition House Inc. partnered with the Veterans Administration in helping the growing number of homeless male veterans in the community.

In 2013, they opened the first TTHI Counseling Center in St. Cloud, Florida, providing therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults, providing  Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), psychiatric mediation management, psychiatric and psychological evaluations, individual and group therapy sessions.

The Transition House Inc. has recently added Counseling Centers in #Kissimmee and #Longwood, Florida and their newest Counseling Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

There are currently 15 centers open and positively impacting the lives of thousands, and they are working on expanding even further. It’s obvious that the need continues to grow in our community and nationally, and the solutions are not simple ones, but with organizations like The Transition House Inc., and the partnerships and relationships they build and nurture, lives will be changed, families and individuals will be restored and a Positive Difference will continue to be made in Osceola County and beyond.

The Transition House Inc. is located at 3800 5th Street, St. Cloud, FL 34769, and their phone number is 407-892-5700.

Thank you to Tom Griffin and to The Transition House Inc., please never grow weary in well doing!
