The School District of Osceola County once again demonstrated its commitment to health and wellness with the annual Keeping Pace with Wellness Family Fun Walk/Run 5K at Austin Tindall Park on Saturday. This signature event, designed to give back to school district employees and their families, drew an impressive crowd of nearly 4,000 runners and walkers, including Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff and other district leaders.

This highly anticipated event featured much more than just a race. Participants enjoyed a full wellness fair, a dedicated kid zone, and a variety of health screenings, reinforcing the district’s commitment to the well-being of its employees and their families. Over 20 food trucks lined the venue, providing a mix of healthy and indulgent options for attendees to enjoy post-race.

For those seeking preventative health care, the event partnered with essential wellness services. The Mammogram Bus and OnSpot Dermatology returned to offer screenings, while a new addition—the Vision Bus—provided vision assessments for school district employees. These services play a crucial role in supporting the overall health of the Osceola County School District workforce.

The morning kicked off with warm-ups at 7:30 AM, followed by an opening welcome by Superintendent Shanoff, before Osceola County School for the Arts Seniors Cecilia Lamulle and Sureena Vengersammy reverently sang our National Anthem. The Kids Fun Walk/Run began at 8:00 AM, setting an energetic tone for the day, followed by the official 5K Walk/Run at 8:30 AM.

The Keeping Pace with Wellness once again provided a fun and engaging way for school district employees and their families to stay active while accessing essential health resources. As one of the district’s premier wellness initiatives, the event highlighted the importance of physical activity, preventive care, and community connection.
