Three pedestrians, including a 13-year-old boy, are dead after a crash on the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 44-year-old Kissimmee man was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry north on the Turnpike south of State Road 60 near mile marker 191 Saturday night when he lost control and drove onto the right shoulder hitting the guardrail. The car ended up between the inside and outside lanes. A 27-year-old man from Winter Haven who was also driving northbound stopped shortly after to help the man and parked in the center median.

Another car that was traveling north on the inside lane swerved into the center median to avoid the disabled vehicle on the highway and struck 2 passengers from the first vehicle and a passenger from the car that had pulled over to help.

Another car traveling north hit the initial disabled vehicle and then the vehicle that had pulled off into the center median to help.

The three pedestrians hit were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
