On the last Wednesday in September, National Women’s Health & Fitness Day promotes health for women of all ages.

Across the country, an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 women of all ages gather at local health and fitness events. They are women of all fitness levels encouraging each other to begin or continue a healthy journey and to enjoy life more by being more fit.

The day inspires many forms of exercise and can be great motivation for women to work together, and encourage each other to get back on a healthy track.

Developing physical strength along with mental confidence goes a long way to keeping healthy, especially with many women overlooking the rest they need and the healthy foods their bodies.

Many fitness centers and organizations will be offering tips, classes, and screenings across the country. Whether you’re in tip top shape or just wanting to get back on the right path, here are some great ways to get healthy and fit:

  • Join a walking or other exercising group
  • Attend a webinar about reducing stress.
  • Learn about incorporating mindfulness into your daily life.
  • Join a meditation or prayer session.
