A woman was fatally struck on US 192 near St. Cloud Village Court just before 9am on Wednesday morning while attempting to cross the roadway, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a sedan was traveling eastbound on the highway when a Kissimmee woman, 54, attempted to cross the street, not within a crosswalk or intersection, and entered directly into the path of the oncoming car, which fatally struck the woman in the eastbound lane.
The driver notified law enforcement of the collision and is cooperating with FHP as they continue to investigate the incident.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.
