The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday in Kissimmee.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting near 820 Cypress Parkway and discovered that the victim, 35-year-old Micah Gabriel Mebane, had sustained a gunshot wound following a verbal argument. Mebane was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation quickly identified Jovaniel Lopez as the suspected shooter. Detectives with the agency’s Homicide Unit obtained an arrest warrant the same day, charging Lopez with second-degree murder.
Lopez was taken into custody and booked into the Osceola County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
