Luck was on Pamela Pontes Cordeiro Silva’s side when she turned a $10 Florida Lottery ticket into a $2 million payday. The 32-year-old Kissimmee resident claimed the top prize from the SILVER STREAK Scratch-Off game this week at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Pontes Cordeiro Silva opted for a one-time lump-sum payment of $1,195,000. She purchased the winning ticket at the Wawa located at 7940 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. For selling the winning ticket, the retailer earned a $4,000 bonus commission.
Launched in September 2024, the $10 SILVER STREAK game features four top prizes of $2 million and more than 358 prizes of $10,000. With more than $104 million in total cash prizes, the game boasts overall odds of 1-in-3.44.
Scratch-Off games are a vital part of the Florida Lottery’s success, accounting for nearly 74% of ticket sales during the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Since the Lottery’s inception, Scratch-Off games have generated more than $66.9 billion in prizes, produced over 2,300 millionaires, and contributed more than $20 billion to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
