A man from Celebration was killed in a five-vehicle crash on I-4 Thursday morning in Hillsborough County, according to the FHP.
Florida troopers said a van was heading west on I-4 near the Thonotosassa Road exit around 7:40 am when it failed to stop or slow down as it was driving behind four other vehicles that were slowing for other traffic that had stopped ahead, troopers said.
As a result, the van crashed into the rear of an SUV, causing a multi-vehicle chain-reaction crash with three other vehicles.
The driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old man from Celebration, died from his injuries in the crash, troopers said. The driver of the van and the passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries, according to the FHP crash report.
No other injuries were reported by FHP.
