A motorcyclist from Orlando was killed in a crash in Osceola County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash took place around 3:36 p.m. at the intersection of North Poinciana Boulevard and Calypso Cay Way.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla driven by a 64-year-old Miramar man was traveling southbound on North Poinciana Boulevard approaching Calypso Cay Way.

A 56-year-old man from Orlando was traveling northbound on his Honda motorcycle on North Poinciana Boulevard, approaching Calypso Cay Way at the same time, according to troopers.

The driver of the Toyota tried to make a left hand turn onto Calypso Cay Way, but entered directly into the path of the motorcycle, striking it with the front of the car, according to the crash report.

The motorcyclist was transported to a HCA Florida Osceola where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Corolla was not injured, according to troopers, but his passengers, a 45-year-old woman also from Miramar, and a 94-year-old Miami man, sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
