Nicholas Rivera, brother-in-law of Nicole Montalvo, the 33-year-old St. Cloud woman who was killed and dismembered on her in-laws’ property, has accepted a plea deal of ten years in prison on child porn charges, unrelated to Nicole Montalvo’s death.

Last October, after dropping off her 8-year-old son at her in laws’ home, where her estranged husband lived, Nicole Montalvo became missing, according to investigators. Her body was later found dismembered and buried on her in-laws’ property.

Montalvo’s estranged husband, Christopher Otero-Rivera, 32, and her father-in-law, Angel Rivera, 63, have both been charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a body in Montalvo’s death.

Nicholas Rivera was initially called a person of interest by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in connection with his sister-in-law’s death, but he has not been charged with anything related to Nicola Montalvo’s death.

If Nicholas Rivera’s plea deal is finalized, he will serve 10 years in prison followed by 15 years of sex offender probation. The hearing is currently scheduled for August 11.
