A 42-year-old Kissimmee motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon at U.S. 192 and Arabian Nights Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 4:48 p.m. when a 2017 Lexus RX, driven by a 61-year-old man from Doral, changed lanes from the outside to the inside lane directly into the path of the 2022 Honda CBR1000 motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the rear of the Lexus, causing the rider to lose control and veer off the roadway.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver and passenger of the Lexus, both from Doral, were not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.

The crash prompted temporary road closures in the westbound lanes of U.S. 192 as troopers investigated. The victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
