Osceola County’s position at the forefront of America’s microelectronics resurgence received national attention on Friday as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin toured NeoCity, the county’s 500-acre technology campus that has rapidly become a key player in reshoring advanced manufacturing.
Administrator Zeldin, a member of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet and the National Energy Dominance Council, visited NeoCity to learn more about its role in strengthening the nation’s microelectronics research, development, and manufacturing ecosystem. His stop marked a significant moment for Osceola County, which has led a multi-year effort to position NeoCity as a hub for semiconductor innovation and high-tech job creation.
Over the past decade, NeoCity has attracted more than half a billion dollars in federal, state, and local investment, supported by major industry partners and public-sector collaborations. Following his tour, Zeldin underscored the importance of the work taking place in Osceola County.
“I feel like you could bring almost the entire Cabinet here and we would all see different aspects of this operation that impact what we face in our decisions every day,” Administrator Zeldin said.
“Whether it’s the race for AI with China, batteries, chips, semiconductors, magnets, or the entire process from raw materials to finished products—much of America’s strategic future is represented here at NeoCity.”
During Friday’s visit, Administrator Zeldin received an in-depth briefing on NeoCity’s strategic vision and the partnerships driving its rapid growth. His tour included key stops highlighting SkyWater Technology, imec, BRIDG, and the National Science Foundation’s Florida Semiconductor Engine—organizations helping accelerate domestic semiconductor production and innovation.
The visit also included NeoCity Academy, Osceola County’s STEM-focused public high school located on the campus. In fewer than 10 years, the school has earned national distinction as the No. 2 high school in Florida and 34th in the country, reflecting NeoCity’s commitment to developing a world-class talent pipeline.
County Manager Don Fisher emphasized the significance of the federal visit and the county’s continued long-term commitment to developing a globally competitive tech economy.
“We are proud that Osceola County is playing a critical role in strengthening America’s microelectronics supply chain,” Fisher said.
“Administrator Zeldin’s visit highlights the national importance of our mission and the impact NeoCity will have on America’s security and competitiveness. NeoCity is proof that strategic investment and strong partnerships can transform a region.”
Next Phase: New Lab Facility to Break Ground Soon
In the coming months, NeoCity will continue its expansion with a new 30,000-square-foot research and development lab designed to meet rising industry demand and attract additional high-tech partners. The facility will support companies growing within the region, help upskill the local workforce, and advance America’s leadership in semiconductor technology and advanced manufacturing.
As NeoCity moves forward, Friday’s visit underscored not only Osceola County’s growing national profile but also the strength of the county’s long-term vision: to build a resilient, future-focused tech hub that drives high-wage jobs and positions the region—and the nation—for success in a rapidly competitive global market.
