On Thursday, ‘The Cup Diner,’ St. Cloud’s iconic eatery, was honored with the “Osceola’s Best Breakfast” Award by Positively Osceola. This recognition highlights their commitment to delivering ‘Positively Delicious’ dining experiences to the community day after day, year after year! This is The Cup’s second time receiving the award, having first won it in 2023.
Franky Woodsby said, “We know that the people that come in here have choices, and we want them to choose us. So, we make sure we do everything we can to give good service, and great food at a decent price.”
The Cup Diner has been a cherished part of St. Cloud’s culinary landscape for years, and is certainly more than just a local restaurant; it’s a home away from home for countless members of the community.
“We make sure everybody is welcomed and we want to reach every table as much as possible. We make sure everything is correct and that everything is presented correctly, and how they want it, Franky’s sister Tiffany shared after the presentation of the “Osceola’s Best Breakfast” award.
Frank and Donna Woodsby came upon the restaurant in 2001 that had already been running for five years under different management. They took a leap of faith and made the purchase.
Sadly, in 2022, the community mourned the passing of Frank Woodsby, but his family’s legacy lives on with Frank and Donna’s three kids Franky, Tanya and Tiffany, ensuring that the restaurant continues on. It’s a new time, with a new name, “The Cup Diner,” but the excellent fare continues, as does the eatery’s belief in fair prices, generous portions, and a family-friendly community-minded focus.
“We have the same cooks here. One of the guys has been with us for 12 years. Another one for 9 years. And one that’s been here for 15 years. Our managers Jenn and Patty have been with us for 26 years,” Franky shared after being presented with the Best of Osceola Award.
The Cup is a busy place for sure. On the weekend, they have a big line outside for the large tables. But, they tell the community to not let that worry, you’ll be seated quickly and fed well. It’s what they’ve always done, and what they’ll continue to do!
The Woodsby family loves their robust community. They wake up every day and love working at The Cup, welcoming guests, serving food, picking up trash, and mopping up floors. If the cooks are buried in the kitchen, they step in. They gladly do whatever it takes to keep people happy and well fed. The Woodsby family leads by example, and their staff follows.
Congratulations to The Cup… you are truly the Best of Osceola!
