Labor Day weekend traditionally marks the summer’s final getaway, and once again, Orlando International Airport (MCO) is set to be a hub of activity.
During the six-day travel period from August 29 through September 3, 2024, passenger traffic is expected to rise by 1.4% compared to the same period in 2023. Nearly 900,000 travelers will pass through MCO, with Monday, September 2, anticipated as the peak day, seeing an estimated 164,231 passengers.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to once again demonstrate Connection, one of the priorities in our Strategic Plan,” said Kevin J. Thibault, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “During this busy season, travelers will benefit from our air service to more than 160 destinations, bringing connectivity across the U.S. and to the world.”
To help manage the increased passenger volume, MCO recommends the following:
- Arrive at the airport early to mitigate parking and check-in challenges. You can reserve parking here or consider these options.
- Check flight status and security wait times on our website or mobile app.
- Use TSA PreCheck or CLEAR for expedited security screening.
- Pack smart and avoid checking bags, if possible.
Passengers are also asked to follow TSA Top Travel Tips.
