For the third time, Celebration K-8 school has earned a place as a Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, and is currently the only 2019 Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Renew School in the county.

The school gets to keep that designation for five years, and then it can re-apply.

Kim Manion, Celebration K-8’s principal, will receive the award on Dec. 15, and then make a presentation, sharing the school’s success stories with other educators from across the nation. Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools commit to sharing that expertise and the practices that work with other schools locally, regionally and nationally. Manion and the school will be called to mentor, network with and guide other school improvement initiatives.

Celebration K-8 and its teachers will be highlighted on the Blue Ribbon Schools website (www.blueribbonschools.com) and have its best practices included in the Blue Ribbon Schools Interactive Library of Best Practices database in order to share information with other schools around the country.

“I remain extremely proud of the faculty, staff, and administration of Celebration K-8 for achieving this worthy national recognition, which highlights their dedication and hard work to ensure every child has every chance every day,” said Dr. Debra Pace, Superintendent of the Osceola School District.
