Are you a fan of large horses? A fan of Budweiser?
You’ll be in luck around New Year’s, with the legendary Budweiser Clydesdales make an appearance in the area.
From Dec. 30 to Jan. 3 the iconic horses will be in our area, including Jan. 1 near Old Town and Fun Spot Kissimmee at 10 a.m., and Jan. 2 on 9th Street near St. Cloud City Hall at 4 p.m.
The team of eight horses will appear with the iconic red, white and gold beer wagon and familiar Dalmatian mascot. They were introduced on April 7, 1933, as when Prohibition was repealed, and have been seen in a couple of presidential inaugurations and many a parade and memorable Super Bowl commercials.
A gift from August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition, the presentation of the original two six-horse hitches of champion Clydesdales moved father, sons and drivers to tears. The phrase “crying in your beer” was officially coined shortly thereafter.
The horses will also be in Orlando on Dec. 30 at Fun Spot Orlando, Dec. 31 on International Drive just south of Sand Lake Road, and Jan. 3 in downtown Orlando on Church Street.
