After only weeks since officially reopening, Florida’s Miami-Dade County will re-close its restaurants to sit-down dining, gyms, and other indoor venues amid a recent continued spike in coronavirus cases.

The closure will commence on Wednesday July 8. Restaurants will move back to selling takeout and delivery until further notice, and bars – were already suspended from serving alcohol on premises since June 26 by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Gyms had reopened about a month ago but will once again flip their window signs to closed until further notice.

How will this affect Central Florida businesses and specifically Osceola County? That remains to be seen. With Florida Health Officials and local leaders encouraging citizens and businesses to wear face coverings, avoid groups larger than 10, and to wash hands often, perhaps what South Florida is now experiencing won’t take place in Central Florida.
