DNA evidence assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in solving a 2018 cold case that involved 2 men who were accused of a home invasion robbery in Kissimmee.

On November of 2018 Osceola Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home invasion robbery at the Courtland at Hunters Creek apartments in Kissimmee. The victim told detectives that two unknown men entered the apartment, bound and battered him. The case until recently was unsolved and the identities of the suspects were unknown.

That is until recently, when DNA evidence led to the identity and arrests of 43 year-old Torrence Blackshear and 41-year-old Trevor Bailey. Torrence Blackshear was arrested for the active warrant and cooperated with detectives in the case. Detectives then located Trevor Bailey who was being held in the Orange County Jail for an unrelated charge.

Torrance Blackshear is currently being held in the Osceola County Jail on no bond for Armed Robbery Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery, and Grand Theft. Trevor Bailey is currently being held in the Orange County Jail and is also charged with Armed Robbery Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery, and Grand Theft with no bond.
