A man was killed and three others were injured in an early Wednesday morning crash at the intersection of US192 and Nova Road in Osceola County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, a sedan was heading east on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and tried to make a left turn onto Nova Road but was struck on the side of the sedan by an SUV traveling west on US192.

The driver of the sedan, a 56-year-old St. Cloud woman, was seriously injured, and her passenger, a 27-year-old St. Cloud man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the SUV and the female passenger with him were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Florida Troopers. This is not the first time that fatal and serious crashes have taken place at the US 192 –  Nova Rd. intersection. Officials have said they are working on getting approval for a traffic light at that intersection, as well as at the intersection of US192 and Old Melbourne Highway, which is a few miles east of Nova Road and has also been a site of serious and fatal car crashes.

A second crash took place further east on US 192 near Harmony High School not long after and caused another round of delays on the roadways.  We will update this story as soon as more information is available.
