Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently investigating two deaths that have occurred at 102 Blackpool Way in Poinciana. The original 911 call was in reference to a man attempting to break into the home, but as the deputies arrived at the scene, they witnessed a young man, later identified as 20 year old Kai Williams, standing neat Berkshire Road and Brixham Court. As deputies approached the man he produced a firearm and shot himself, causing a fatal wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies then entered the residence where the 911 call originated from, 102 Blackpool Way, and found Liberty High School student Larissa Barros, 18, inside the residence with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The female was also pronounced dead at the scene. Osceola Sheriff’s Deputies are reporting that there was an active injunction against Williams, intended to keep him away from Larissa Barros.
KOA Elementary School is not releasing students to walk home near the crime scene. School officials asked parents to come to the school to pick up their children.
This is an active investigation but appears to be an isolated incident and detectives and forensics are currently on scene.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office would like to ask the public to stay away from the immediate area if possible, as this investigation is ongoing. Positively Osceola will update this story as more details become available.
