Osceola Arts has announced their next exciting art exhibit, ‘Dreams and Realities,: Artworks by Vera Gunitskaia on display in the Studio Gallery from March 1 through May 5.
The “Dreams and Realities”exhibit explores a range of artistic techniques, including paintings, drawings, and sculptures, highlighting Gubnitskaia’s continuous experimentation and exploration in art. The exhibition invites art enthusiasts to a free artist reception, offering a unique opportunity to delve into the creative processes and inspirations behind her works. Don’t miss this exceptional display of talent and creativity at Osceola Arts.
Born in the former Soviet Union, Vera Gubnitskaia first learned how to read and then how to read between the lines. This was inevitable in a society where honest opinions and unorthodox views were discouraged (at best) or punished. You had to be able to read what was not spelled out, hear what was not explicitly said, and see what was not pictured. Ironically, these adverse conditions allowed her to develop a style that gives depth to her art, asking you to look beyond the immediate visual.
Each of Gubnitskaia’s paintings, drawings, or sculptures has a story, and then a story behind a story, like endless reflections in a mirror. Each piece immerses you in the artist’s interpretations of fantasy, poetry, literature, music, and past and present experiences.
Vera Gubnitskaia is an artist, a writer, a freelance editor, and a retired librarian, residing in Florida, US. She has studied, worked, and created art in Russia and the United States. Gubnitskaia has degrees from the Moscow (Russia) Institute of Culture and Florida State University. She worked in academic and public libraries in Russia and the United States, as well as with several publishing houses in the United States.
Gubnitskaia is currently a studio artist resident at Crealdé School of Art (Winter Park, Florida) and a member of the Central Florida Watercolor Society. Gubnitskaia constantly explores and experiments with new art techniques. Her body of work includes paintings, drawings, and sculptures.
CREATIVA opens Saturday, March 2 with a free and open to the public art reception from 2 pm to 5 pm, and runs through May 5. Osceola Arts galleries are always free and open to the public. For gallery schedule go to www.OsceolaArts.org.
