The Florida Fire Frogs opened the month of May with a dramatic, 3-2 come-from-behind-victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals on Tuesday at at Osceola County Stadium. The win was the first time this season the Atlanta Braves Advanced-A affiliate won a game in which it trailed after seven innings.

Kevin Josephina (1×3, 3 RBI) started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to cut a 2-0 deficit down to one, and put the home team ahead with a two-run singled in the eighth.

The clutch RBI knock came with two outs and the bases loaded in the frame, as the designated hitter blooped a single to shallow left. Chase Pender made a sliding effort, but the ball caromed off the defender’s glove into the outfield grass, allowing both Brett Cumberland (0x2, R, BB) and Alejandro Salazar (2×4, R) to score for the 3-2 advantage.

Chad Sobotka (SV, 2) worked a perfect ninth, and capped off the victory by blowing a fastball past the bat of Jose Godoy to open up the six-game homestand.

Ian Anderson had a bounce-back night after combining to toss just 5.1 innings over his previous two starts. The 19-year-old blanked Palm Beach (13-12) over his five innings of work, surrendering just three hits, walking one, and striking out six in the no-decision. The 2016 first-round draft pick has not allowed a run against the Cardinals in two starts this season, stretching across 10 innings of work.

Sean McLaughlin (1-2) was credited with the win for Florida (9-16), allowing an inherited runner to score in the seventh on an BRI single by Stefan Trosclair. The product of Georgia held the visitors off the board in the eighth inning, allowing the comeback to take place.

The Fire Frogs will go for the series victory over the Cardinals on Wednesday night in game two of the three-game series at Osceola County Stadium. RHP Bryse Wilson (2-0, 0.45) takes his league-leading ERA into the contest for Florida against LHP Austin Warner (1-1, 5.66) for the Cardinals. First pitch is set for 6:31 p.m.
