Florida schools to remain closed for the remainder of the academic year, Governor DeSantis says

Florida students, VPK-12, will not be returning to school for the rest of the 2019-2020 academic year because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who spoke today at a Saturday press conference.

DeSantis said he believes continuing distance learning for now is the best option.

Prior to Saturday’s announcement, all schools were closed through the rest of April.
