Osceola County Commissioner Fred Hawkins Jr. from District 5 has made it official. He is now a candidate in the House District 42 race.
Hawkins is currently serving his third term on the Osceola Board of County Commissioners and was first elected to Osceola’s board in 2008. While on the board he has served as Chairman in 2010, 2014, and 2017.
He lives in St. Cloud with his wife Tiffany and daughter Kendrie, attends Cornerstone Family Church and is seeking the seat currently held by fellow Republican state Rep. Mike La Rosa who in his final term due to term limits.
Hawkins currently holds the position of President/CEO of the Osceola Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings resources and people together to support and enhance education in Osceola County.
He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Expressway Authority, the Orlando Economic Partnership, the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, where he held the position of President and CEO and is on the board of St. Cloud Main Street.
