In response to Hurricane Michael and the overwhelming generosity of people who want to help, the Florida Goodwill organizations have established a response plan to directly bring much-needed support and aide to the communities that have been directly and critically affected by Hurricane Michael.

Throughout the State of Florida, Goodwill is positioned to accept, sort, store and distribute donations of clothing and household goods. People who would like to donate items can visit any Goodwill Industries Donation Center location throughout Florida and designate their donation to Hurricane Michael.  While Goodwill can accept almost anything, for this effort we are focusing on clothing, shoes, towels, linens and other household goods.  For local listings visit www.goodwill.org/donate-and-shop/donate-stuff.

Local Goodwill locations will process the donations earmarked for Hurricane Michael and provide material goods and/or funding to those affected by Hurricane Michael in the affected areas. In some cases, vouchers will be allocated based on need and can be redeemed for selected items in Goodwill locations throughout Florida.

If people would like to make monetary donations to Hurricane Michael relief efforts, please visit Goodwill’s disaster relief partners, the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org.

“Goodwill is grateful for the generosity of our donors and shoppers. With their support, we can provide the necessary items to those affected by the hurricane,” said Nima Hodaei, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. “This partnership shows the strength and magnitude of what collaboration can do.”

Donors are encouraged to check with their local Goodwill management for specific instructions on how to donate items for Hurricane Michael relief.
