The Lifeboat Project has named Tina Sopp as its new Chief Operating Officer, adding an experienced Central Florida business leader to its executive team as the nonprofit continues expanding its work supporting survivors of human trafficking.

The appointment was announced by The Lifeboat Project CEO and Founder Jill Cohen. In her new role, Sopp will oversee day-to-day operations, strategic initiatives and organizational growth while helping advance the organization’s mission of empowering survivors through housing, advocacy, education and comprehensive support services.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tina to The Lifeboat Project’s executive leadership team,” Cohen said. “Her leadership experience, strategic vision, and passion for building meaningful relationships will strengthen our organization as we continue expanding our mission to provide hope, healing, and comprehensive services to survivors of human trafficking.”

Sopp brings experience in business development, managing complex business-to-business accounts, negotiating partnerships and working with cross-functional teams. Her leadership approach emphasizes collaboration and building relationships based on trust, respect and shared goals.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Sopp earned dual degrees in political science and public relations.

Sopp is also an eighth-generation Orlando resident with deep family roots in Central Florida. Her grandfather was known for winding downtown Orlando’s clock by hand each day, while Dollins Avenue in Orlando continues to recognize her family name and its connection to the community.

She is the mother of two sons, Colten and Austin, both of whom have followed careers in professional wrestling with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Colten is a graduate of Florida State University, while Austin graduated from Rollins College.

Sopp joins The Lifeboat Project as the Florida-based 501(c)(3) organization continues its efforts to provide long-term care and resources for survivors of human trafficking.

The organization uses a trauma-informed, survivor-centered approach that includes residential programs, education and long-term aftercare. Its S.H.I.E.L.D. Program provides a comprehensive framework designed to help survivors move from immediate crisis toward long-term self-sufficiency and empowerment.

Through its programs and partnerships, The Lifeboat Project works to give survivors the support needed to heal while providing resources and opportunities to help them build independent futures.
