Is social distancing having an effect on flattening the curve? Osceola County now has 229 coronavirus cases as reported by the Florida Department of Health at the 6pm update, meaning fewer positive cases were added over the weekend combined than any one weekday this past week by themselves. Is this the new trend, and is social distancing working? Certainly it’s too early to tell  – but these are better stats at this point.

There were 28 new cases combined Saturday and Sunday. There were 31 on Friday, 30 on Wednesday and 28 on Tuesday here in Osceola.

Another bit of good news is that, for the third straight day, deaths (4) and hospitalizations (58) in the county remained unchanged.

The state now lists 12,350 cases and 221 deaths statewide. The 795 new cases is a 6.9 percent increase, the first time the jump wasn’t double digits all week.

Stay safe, stay home and keep doing what you’re doing and making a positive difference, Osceola County!
