ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando Resort is adding another celebrity-backed dining location to its entertainment district as Joey Fatone’s Fat One’s Hot Dogs & Italian Ice prepares to open at Universal CityWalk later this year.
The new restaurant, founded by former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone and business partner Joe Mulvihill, will replace the longtime Hot Dog Hall of Fame location at CityWalk Orlando, which is expected to close in July after more than a decade in operation.
According to Universal Orlando and multiple theme park industry reports, Fat One’s will feature “creative, flavor-packed hot dogs, Italian ices, and more” as part of CityWalk’s continuing transformation and expansion of dining and entertainment offerings.
Fat One’s originally launched at Florida Mall in 2016 before expanding with a Central Florida food truck operation in 2018. The concept has developed a following for its oversized all-beef hot dogs, unique toppings, and signature “Brooklyn Flats” fries.
Current menu favorites from the brand include “The Fat One,” a jumbo foot-long hot dog with traditional toppings, “The Angelo,” topped with whiskey-infused bacon onion jam and jalapeños, and “The Big Guy,” featuring pulled pork barbecue and slaw. Italian ice and shaved ice treats are also expected to be featured at the CityWalk location.
The restaurant will take over the space across from Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food in the heart of CityWalk Orlando. Hot Dog Hall of Fame originally opened in 2014 during a major reimagining and expansion of the Universal Orlando entertainment district.
Fat One’s arrival is part of a larger wave of updates taking place at CityWalk, including recently announced additions and dining changes as Universal continues refreshing its lineup ahead of continued resort growth and the debut of new experiences across the destination.
An official opening date and full menu details for Fat One’s Hot Dogs & Italian Ice have not yet been announced.
