The FBI has charged Jeremy Froias, a 41-year-old cyber security officer formerly with the city of Kissimmee, with video voyeurism and attempted possession of child exploitation material after he allegedly video recorded over 150 people secretly, including children, using the bathroom on a seven-day Royal Caribbean cruise from Miami.

The alleged incident took place aboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas, which departed from Miami on April 29 for a 7-day cruise with stops in Saint Maarten, San Juan and Nassau, Bahamas.

On April 30, as the cruise ship was in international waters, Froias installed a hidden Wi-Fi connected camera in a public bathroom on the aft of the top deck of the ship, between the “Flow Rider” surfing area and a nearby bar, according to an affidavit.

The hidden camera was placed in an area of the wall above the door in the area of the toilet. The only part of the camera that was visible was the camera’s lens the affidavit shows.

“We are aware of an incident that occurred on board Harmony of the Seas’ April 29 cruise. The matter was immediately reported to local and federal law enforcement and the guest involved was removed from the ship by authorities for further investigation,” Royal Caribbean said in a news statement.

If you know of someone else who has possibly been victimized by Jeremy Froias, please encourage them to complete this FBi form with regard to the incident that took place on the cruise ship between April 30 and May 1, 2023.

The FBI is leading this active investigation.
