A 44-year-old Kissimmee man, who was riding his motorcycle on Buenaventura Boulevard in Kissimmee Friday night, died after crashing into the side of a van that had turned directly into his path, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash took place just before 8:15pm Friday night on Buenaventura Boulevard at Majors Lane, according to FHP.
According to Florida Highway Patrol’s crash report, witnesses said the motorcyclist was riding north on Buenaventura Boulevard, traveling faster than the posted speed limit without his headlight on, when he struck a van driven by a 39-year-old Kissimmee, that was stopped at the intersection of Majors Lane and and BVL Blvd. and began to make a left turn toward southbound Buenaventura Boulevard.
The van entered the direct path of the motorcycle, causing the front of the bike to strike the front left of the vans.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet in the crash, but was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.
