Today, April 18, 2019 is National Lineman Appreciation Day and Kissimmee Utility Authority joined the U.S. Congress in recognizing and honoring more than 114,000 highly-skilled lineworkers.

By unanimous consent, the U.S. Senate in 2013 and U.S. House of Representatives in 2017 approved separate resolutions recognizing linemen, the profession of linemen and the contributions of these brave men and women who protect public safety. The resolutions designated April 18 as National Lineman Appreciation Day.

The resolutions honor the lineworkers who not only maintain the country’s five million miles of transmission and distribution lines, but also pitch in to help their fellow utility workers in the wake of natural disasters, wherever they occur.

Today, let’s join Kissimmee Utility Authority and the U.S Congress by honoring and thanking the KUA linemen for their dedication and service, and recognize the critical role they play in keeping the lights on in Kissimmee. Thanks to their hard work and commitment they have helped KUA deliver a 99.99% service reliability for its customers in 2018. If you see them, thank them!
