KPD has released the name of the man who they say shot at FDLE agents who were partnering in a drug bust operation, injuring one of them.

Investigators say that 36-year-old Maximiano Arellano-Resendiz now faces attempted murder charges.

On Tuesday, June 1 just before 3 pm, the Kissimmee Police Department responded to 2250 N. Hoagland Ave. in reference to a shooting.

Members of the Osceola County Investigative Bureau (OCIB) along with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Tampa were working a joint undercover drug investigation concerning trafficking illegal narcotics in two separate locations in Kissimmee, FL.

Two subjects were taken into custody without incident at 1701 Dyer Blvd. as agents followed two additional suspects to a second location. Once agents arrived at 2250 N. Hoagland Ave., it appears they were met with gunfire coming from inside the suspect vehicle. That suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Maximiano Arellano-Resendiz. He is now facing charges of attempted murder.

An agent that was struck by gunfire has been released from the hospital. FDLE is requesting that the name not be released
