Cheesecake is one of those beloved holiday dessert ingredients, but it looks like heavy demand, and some supply chain issues, have caused a cream cheese shortage for the holidays… not to worry, you can get paid NOT to buy cream cheese this year!

However you love your cream cheese, you may find a bit less of it in the stores when you’re working on your holiday shopping. The Philadelphia Cheese brand is trying to make up for the product’s scarcity by encouraging folks to grab a different dessert this year — and they’re offering some cash to make it happen!
Philadelphia will reimburse the cost up to $20 if you make a choice other than their cream cheese this year. To cash in, visit SpreadTheFeeling.com beginning Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. ET. You’ll need to submit a grocery store or restaurant receipt dated between Dec. 17 and Christmas Eve to qualify.

Whether you use that refund to buy a store-made cake or make your own cake (or buy a store-made cake pass it off as homemade!), is up to you.

“For the past 150 years, Philadelphia cream cheese has been a staple in American households, especially around the holidays,” says Philadelphia marketing director, Basak Oguz, in a statement. “As we continue to see elevated and sustained demand, we want to ensure that there’s enough cream cheese for bagels, cheesecakes, and everything in-between. We’re excited to share that we’re investing millions of dollars so Philadelphia cream cheese will be available to anyone that wants it, wherever they like to shop, for the next 150 years and beyond.”

So there you have it… make a different choice of desserts for the holidays, and get $20 back. It’s that easy! Then in January head back out to the stores and pick up that Philadelphia Cream Cheese for your bagels… and use Philadelphia’s 20 bucks!
