Kylie Blakely was selected as Miss Osceola 2019, on February 16, 2019, during the 5th annual Miss Osceola Scholarship Competition. Kylie Blakely, daughter of Stan Blakely and Michelle Watson Blakely, is a 5th generation Osceola County resident who is a member of the Bass family, one of the first families to settle in Osceola County. We had the chance to chat with Kylie, Miss Osceola 2019, after she was presented a Proclamation in recognition of Miss Osceola from City of St. Cloud Commissioner Dave Askew during the City of St. Cloud Commissioners Meeting on March 14, 2019.

Positively Osceola: What made you decide to participate in the Miss Osceola Scholarship Competition?

Kylie: Everything happens for a reason. I was actually volunteering as a model for the Cinderella’s Closet Fundraiser hosted by the Osceola County Sons and Daughters of Italy Lodge #2523 and was approached by someone during the event to sign up for the pageant. I had never participated in pageants before and only had 6 days to prepare for Miss Osceola.

Positively Osceola: What inspired your pageant platform?

Kylie: My platform for Miss Florida Competition and Miss Osceola was Veteran and First Responder Mental and Physical Health Awareness. I would like to promote awareness through mental and physical health. My grandfather on my mother’s side served in the Navy and I have such high respect for men and women who have served for our Country. There have been 1,166 known Veteran suicides this year, and this is something that is very near and dear to my heart.

Positively Osceola: What are your career goals?

Kylie: I graduated from Osceola High School (my mom graduated from OHS as well) and I am now attending Valencia College. I am currently in my medical undergraduate and I plan on becoming a Doctor in Anesthesiology. I would like to work at the VA Hospital.

Kylie will go on to compete at the Miss Florida Competition in June, where the winner will advance to the Miss America Competitions

“I ‘m honored to represent my county, and my hometown and I will continue my best to make my hometown proud. I am so grateful for this opportunity and for KVLS because without KVLS there would be no Miss Osceola. “ – Kylie Blakely, Miss Osceola 2019

We would like to say congratulations again to Kylie for winning Miss Osceola 2019. We are excited to cheer you on as you compete for Miss Florida. Good luck to you and thank you for making a positive difference in Osceola County.
