The Salvation Army of Orange and Osceola Counties is welcoming a new era of leadership and service with the appointment of Majors Roger and DeeAnn Glick as the organization’s new Area Commanders. With over 35 years of ministry and leadership experience, the Glicks bring a dynamic blend of compassion, commitment, and community focus to their new roles.
From rural towns to bustling metropolitan areas, the Glicks have dedicated their lives to serving communities across the nation. Their most recent assignment was in Central Maryland, following leadership roles in Greater Birmingham, Alabama, Little Rock, Arkansas, and throughout Florida. They also served over 15 years as Corps Officers in communities including Atchison and Olathe, Kansas, and Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
“We’re thrilled to be in Orlando and honored to serve this incredible community,” said Major Roger Glick. “We believe in the life-changing power of love, hope, and practical support and that’s what The Salvation Army is here to offer every single day.”
The Glicks were commissioned in 1990 as part of the Witnesses for Jesus Session after graduating from the College for Officer Training in Chicago. Both earned associate degrees from Olivet Nazarene University, and Major Roger Glick completed his bachelor’s degree in Religion with honors from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Their journey has included time in local church ministry, where they pastored in Missouri. Major Roger Glick, ordained in the Church of the Nazarene, also worked in operations management, while Major DeeAnn Glick returned to The Salvation Army as a Corps Administrator, leading the couple back to full-time ministry with the organization they both consider home.
At the center of their mission is a belief that transformation is possible. “We’re passionate about seeing people experience real change, spiritually, emotionally, and practically,” said Major DeeAnn Glick. “Our prayer is that every person we serve feels seen, valued, and supported.”
As Area Commanders, the Glicks will oversee a wide range of community programs that include emergency shelter, food assistance, financial support, spiritual care, and long-term solutions to help families achieve stability. They’re eager to partner with local churches, volunteers, civic leaders, and organizations throughout Central Florida to expand the Army’s reach and impact.
The couple is also proud parents to five children: Emma Louise Muriel Perez (Johnny), Sadie Grace Marie Glick, Elijah James Frederick Glick, Tressa Rose Francis Glick, and Jacob Allen Patrick Glick.
With hearts full of purpose and a deep belief in the transformative power of service, Majors Roger and DeeAnn Glick are stepping into their new roles ready to lead with compassion, faith, and a deep commitment to the people of Orange and Osceola Counties.
